Possible gimmicks / business model for a full-Linux Cybercafé
Back in my college days, a lot of cybercafé people asked us if maybe they could use Linux full-blast for their establishments. We told them this won't still work since most of their establishment's activity depend on Windows games and they would still have to buy licenses for these games, which isn't much of a difference compared to just ditching Windows and MS Office.
But these days, there is more activity now for social networking sites (am making assumptions now) than gaming, and though gaming is still a staple activity in a cybercafé, I believe having for-internet-use-only stations would be a viable business already.
So to convince old customers for a paradigm shift, how would an establishment transition then? They can't just switch to Linux or for-internet-use-only stations right? Or can they start stripping games off, allow them to just browse the NET, and from then on switch to Linux and make the rent rates lower?
